Well it' 3:35a.m. and I am sitting here in the Miami Int. airport with Deb sleeping beside me...to say things don't always turn out the way you expect would be a slight understatement... :)
I think the realization that "things are not going as planned" started when we had a 5:55p.m. scheduled departure from Indy...we boarded the plane at 5:35....after we "taxied" away from the gate a few hundred yards...the Captain came on and informed us that due to weather in Chicago, we would be delayed for an hour...so we sat for an hour...then he came on and told us the airport was shut down indefinitely, due to the weather...after an additional hour wait, he said, "we will taxi back to the gate and "de-board"...which we did..."FOR A TOTAL OF 30 MIN."...then we re-boarded the plane and taxied out....finally taking off and landing in Chicago four hours later than planned...did I mention our connecting flight was scheduled to leave Chicago at 7:30?!! But we have managed to make the best of it all...finally leaving Chicago around midnight....only to be struck by lightning 10 minutes into the flight!! (They say it happens all the time...but when you see it actually happen while your in the plane...well, let' just say, I am sure there were more than a few "comin to Jesus" moments being experienced...but, it' all good!! God brought us safely to Miami and since we knew we were going to be late we cancelled the room reservations...soooo, that' why we have an update at....3:46 a.m. now... :)
Other than the travel excitement, Betsie just came up from downstairs and said she couldn't sleep due to "being cold and a butt cramp"....not clear on the order of which came first...(not sure it matters either...)
Hopefully, we won't have to wait around in Port Au Prince in the a.m., but given all the changes being made and all of our travel pleasures so far..."Lord only knows"...well I'm gonna try to add a few pics and we'll "check in" after a bit... :)
